Matawan, NJ – January 30th, 2024 – The Otteau Group, Inc. is pleased to announce that industry veteran Jon Brody, MAI, SRA, CRE® has joined the firm as Senior Managing Director. Mr. Brody, with his vast background in real estate consulting and appraisals, will continue to serve his clients as part of the group. Jeffrey Otteau remarked that “We are excited to have someone like Jon join our firm. He is one of the best litigation appraisers and will drive the growth of our litigation division.”
Founder and former President of Appraisal Consultants Corp. (1983-2023), he has personally written and testified on a multitude of narrative reports on real property valuation, markets, and studies on a wide range of topics both for private clients as well as municipalities. As such, he has testified in over 100 cases in the Superior Courts of New Jersey, many of which were high profile cases resulting in landmark decisions. In addition to litigation and testifying, Brody has also lectured on real estate matters.
Jon holds the prestigious MAI and SRA designations from the Appraisal Institute as well as the CRE® designation from the Counselors of Real Estate. Jon has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Metro New Jersey Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and served as Past President of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers (SREA) North Jersey Chapter and Past President of Chapter #1 of the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers (AIREA). In addition, Jon was a certified instructor for the Appraisal Institute for 20 plus years, specializing in teaching Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, a course focusing on the ethical and technical obligations of an appraiser.
